Paper Trail 2025

Nestled among the wide, quiet roads and sagging industrial architecture of our inner east side, a buzz of activity was growing cacophonous. Just past the bright walls of the D.R.E.A.M. district’s Gravelmouth Gallery, stylish pedestrians carrying art-laden totes chattered enthusiastically over their new acquisitions, a positive omen. I’d stood in that exact same spot one month earlier, having misread the date on the flier, but judging from the packed parking lot nearby and foot traffic converging upon the venue, this time there could be no mistake; Paper Trail had landed.

Paper Trail, a free, one-day art event, returned to the Rock Box for their 11th year on Sunday, offering print, apparel, sticker, and zine enthusiasts alike the opportunity to gorge themselves on graphic delights. Jam-packed stalls lined the walls, each with unique, custom wares available for purchase. With over 50 artists–including City Print proprietor and cover art collaborator Tattooedboy–to choose from, and an inspiring range of creative forms to explore, you’d be hard-pressed to find an aesthetic that wasn’t covered.

Artists interested in participating in Paper Trail 2026 can head to their site to register for notifications when applications open. For now, visit a gallery; check out a Second Saturday artwalk; go to your friend’s exhibition! Support local art and artists, and help keep San Antonio the vibrant, creatively-inspiring city we love.
