Mahjong for a Mission
By Leslie Foley
Guests gathered at Feather, Fluff and Flings to play a few rounds of Mahjong while raising funds to support The Chick Mission’s Hope Grant Program, helping women preserve their fertility after a cancer diagnosis. Julia Hermann, Alamo Heights high school ambassador for the Chick Mission, hosted the informative fundraiser featuring open play and games, refreshments and treats, opportunities to give, prizes, fun, and learning.
The Chick Mission runs the Hope Grant Program to pay for egg freezing cycles for young women newly diagnosed with cancer. The grant covers core medical costs for a single egg freezing cycle to protect future family options.
